A letter from the (Associate) Editor

A little sumpin' sumpin' came in the mail last week... Can you guess how excited I was?

Well, to be honest... the package arrived and I was a little teary. And then I was afraid to open it because I thought I would cry... so I waited until my hubby was home and the kids all gathered around as I opened the package. We all cheered and I got lots of congratulatory hugs.

It is not every day that you see your name in print...especially when it says "Associate Editor" next to your name.

The reason I was so emotional is because I never thought I would ever work for a magazine. I always dreamed that I would, but I often thought that it was impossible. I mean, I don't have a background in journalism, I take terrible photographs - I am not the "editor' type. But, in January, I made a resolution that quilting would take a priority in my life and five months later I started to work on GenQ.

So, no matter what "crazy" thing you love to do. No matter what you dream is your day job. I am here to remind you that it can happen. I wished and hoped that I would somehow make money doing what I love. I thought I will create this blog and it will be all about the things I love about quilting, including reading books and maybe I could do a few reviews of the books I like. A few months later, I have a stack of brand new quilting books to review for the magazine. So dream big! You never know what will happen.

Keep an eye out for Generation Q in quilt stores and Barnes & Noble. You can also order it on our website - just click on the link in my side bar. Let me know where you find it - I am having a hard time finding it here in Illinois.
