Sewing Buddies

I have two new sewing buddies.

One is featured in this photo. His name is Tank because he is one and because that is the name he came with when we adopted him. I wanted to re-name him Teddy Roose-cat or Stitch or some other name. But Tank he has remained.

He loves sleeping on my sewing table, watching me write. When I get up, he steals my desk chair. Don't let his sweet face trick you... he is a feisty boy. I often refer to him as canTANKerous because he is often so grumpy.  He is a handsome one but alas the good-looking guys are always assholes.

My other sewing buddy has turned out to be my 8 year old daughter. The other day a friend wanted to stop at Sam's Club. As we were walking through, I realized that they have several quilting magazines. So I grabbed two as we walked to the back of the store. My little girl was suddenly at my side asking to check one out. So there we were, following the guys, reading our mags when I suddenly realized that she was READING A QUILTING MAGAZINE!!!

Go figure! The gene didn't skip a generation! Well, perhaps I shouldn't say that out loud yet. But the piecing in my old Featherweight is her first quilt that she is working on! Fingers crossed that she finishes at least a pillow!
